We're Stronger Than Fear in La Trobe

Politicians and the tabloid media are using a ‘law and order’ narrative in a desperate attempt to weaponise our differences ahead of the Federal election in May. We’ve had enough of politicians treating people of colour as convenient scapegoats. While they try and cling to power using fear and hate, we will be there holding them to account. We can demonstrate that our communities are not political punching bags, we’re stronger than fear.

They’re trying to manipulate us into thinking we have something to fear from our friends and neighbours. The Government do not have a policy agenda this election, what they do have is fear and hate and they think they can manipulate us into falling for it. While they try and scare us into voting for them, they continue to cut funding to essential services like Centrelink and Medicare and give the green light to tax-dodging business like Adani and Qantas.

Now more than ever, we need to ensure that racism has no public licence. That hate speech is not tolerated, and that any politician that tries to capitalise on fear and hate will see consequences at the ballot box.

We have a plan to prove that we are #StrongerThanFear and that Australians will no longer tolerate hate speech and divisive tactics that demonise one group of Australians to win votes.

Will you join us?
