The ugliest face of capitalism is often revealed in the wake of a major disaster, and that's exactly what we're seeing in Western North Carolina. The near-total destruction of housing and infrastructure falls hardest on those with the fewest individual resources—the poor, the marginalized, and the working class. Our solidarity with all the oppressed people of the world calls on us to help the victims of Hurricane Helene rebuild their lives and homes.
