Right now, the Senate is debating a budget proposal for child care that will impact parents and the people who work in child care for generations to come. We’re hearing from members of Congress that some want a $450 Billion investment into child care while others are pushing for far less. Now is the moment for our elected officials to not just hear us, but feel us. As Senators and Congresspeople take their August vacation (recess), and return home, we need to urge them to do their jobs and put families first. They need to feel what parents and providers have been going through for years, not just during the pandemic.
That’s why, in the lead up to Labor Day, we’re coming together to take action. Across the country we’re going to let our elected officials know that child care providers are the workforce behind the workforce. And we can’t get back to work until every family has the child care they need, no matter their zip code. Are you ready to join us?
