On November 1st, the most important international climate talks since the Paris Agreement will begin in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Glasgow Climate Talks are a historic opportunity for the world to act on climate, but we won’t see the transformational action we need ― unless the climate movement holds governments and corporations accountable.
Now, we’re calling for actions ― large and small ― where people deliver the petition to local bank branches, insurance offices, asset manager headquarters, state pension funds and Federal Reserve offices. Petition deliveries can be any size — from simple, solo deliveries to 200+ people rallying outside an office. The important thing is making sure that deliveries happen everywhere.
There are two ways to join the Deadline Glasgow - Week of Action:
Find an action on the map and join it! Just enter your zip code and select an event near you.
Organize your own petition delivery! Once you register your event on the Action Network map, we’ll be in touch to support you with an Action Toolkit & Organizer Calls to support you in your organizing.
At the beginning of August Stop the Money Pipeline, a coalition of more than 160 organizations, launched Deadline Glasgow - Defund Climate Chaos, an all-hands-on-deck campaign, demanding genuine, transformational climate action from both President Biden and Wall Street by the start of the Glasgow Climate Talks.
More than 800 people joined the Campaign Launch on August 3rd. Since then, there have been more than forty actions at bank branches and we’ve made thousands of phone calls and sent tens of thousands of emails to our targets.
This week of action is the next step in escalating pressure to make sure the Glasgow Climate Talks are as impactful as we need them to be.
