The 2016 Presidential campaign demonstrated that voters across this country are fed up with pay-to-play politics. Billionaires and corporate interests are able to wield incredible power in D.C. and in state capitals throughout the U.S. by spending huge sums of money on campaigns, lobbying, and through a revolving door of consulting and favors. Meanwhile, the public’s ability to rein in these special interests at the ballot box is hindered by low voter participation due to hurdles that prevent people from getting to the polls.
Enough is Enough!
Now is the time that we continue building the movement to #DemandDemocracy right here in New York State. We call on Governor Cuomo and the New York State Senate and Assembly to OVERHAUL our elections systems, and reinvigorate our democracy.
