In Solidarity With Walkers: A Walk To Stay Home
On February 15, 11 brave warriors embarked on a journey to the nations capitol to confront the system that constantly wants to deport them. The walk is a multi-state 250-mile walk from NYC to Washington D.C. putting their bodies on the line facing the cold weather and hazardous road conditions. However our communities have helped us along the way. Whether it was donating food, donating funds, or donating shelter; our walkers have the support they need to continue this journey for respect, dignity, and permanent protection.
We understand many of our community members would like to join our walkers in solidarity with their cause. If you are inspired by the actions of these walkers we invite you to host a solidarity action in your own locality. Whether its to host a vigil or host your own mini walk from your homes to a government office our walkers will harness this energy to continue the fight. From California to Maine we must show that there is not only 11 walkers but they are 11 walkers with 11 million lives walking right behind them.
We demand a Clean Dream Act now, because the inaction of Congress to address this crisis undocumented youth face only increases it day by day. We must tell those who claim to support us in congress to hold the line and to not gamble with the lives of undocumented youth, to have the courage to demand and push forward a Clean Dream Act that would grant permanent protection to undocumented youth and not put our communities in danger. Join us in our Walk to Stay Home, wherever you are as we make a call to the national, to ask everyone to take those first steps of courage, to join us in the streets and make our voices heard. We will only win if we have the courage to stand for our own dreams and you can find the courage to stand with us. Join us in our fight to stay home!
