In the past 2 weeks the #JewishResistance has taken to the streets from LA to DC to protest Trump, AIPAC, and their dangerous alliance as the 50th year of occupation approaches. In what was the largest Jewish-led protest of AIPAC, hundreds of us gathered to reject a politics defined by fear and hate and to carve a new path for our community. We sang, chanted and marched hand in hand, showing the world that as moral Jews we will struggle for the freedom and dignity for all people here and in Israel/Palestine.
The #JewishResistance is growing. We showed up strong to #ResistAIPAC, but we know there are thousands more Jews who are ready to join us in ending our community’s support for the occupation. Over 75% of Jews voted against Trump and are resisting his ongoing hate-filled policies and rhetoric. We need to show them that their resistance cannot stop at Trump-- that it’s time for #JewishResistance to take on the occupation. And that means it's time for a National Day of Action.
On Thursday, hundreds of us across the country will come together before Passover to ask the 5th question: “Will you talk about 50 years of Occupation this Passover?
This Passover season we mark nearly 50 years of occupation. 50 years of theft and 50 years of violence. At Passover seders this year as we tell the story of our people’s liberation from the land of Egypt. We will use the four questions to explain our passover traditions and explore the meaning of this celebration. As 50 years of occupation approaches, we must use this celebration of liberation to reflect on how we are not yet free-- our liberation is tied to the liberation of all Palestinians, and while we celebrate this story of freedom, we must commit to struggle to for the freedom of all people.
