2015 Labor Day Parade in Erie, PA
Start: Monday, September 07, 2015•10:00 AM

This will be the 1st Labor Day Parade in Erie, PA since 1987!
We need your help and participation to make this a great event. The theme of the Parade is "Unions Today!" The cost to participants is free! Contact us for more information at 814-360-8336 or 814-758-5040.
We encourage our unions to bring their members wearing their union colors and logos, build a float and show those in our communities that "Labor is alive and well in NWPA!"
Applications for participation must be completed and mailed to the NWPA ALF at 1276 Liberty St., Franklin, PA 16323 for review and approval. Please submit applications ASAP.
Why MUST ALL Unions/Organizations complete and submit an application?
- We need contact information for your organization for communications with your group prior to the parade. One example will be the list of off-street free parking locations that will be available through the generosity and cooperation of businesses and organizations in our community.
- A portion of the application includes a written introduction for your group that will be read by the announcer as your group approaches the band stand.
- We need to know the space your organization will need ( size of float or vehicle and estimated number of participants).
- Groups must be placed in the line up for the parade.
- We will have prizes:
- Best Float in Parade (1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place),
- The Union which traveled the longest distance to participate,
- The Union with the largest number of participants, and
- The Union with the largest percentage of membership participation.
The parade route is flat and just short of 1 mile long. The route begins at 11th & State and goes North towards the lake to North Park Row ,then East to French St. and South to 6th Street. A map of the parade route is below:
