In 2019, we at Citizens UK: Birmingham, launched an extensive listening campaign to unpack our top priorities for the West Midlands regional elections in 2020.

Then the Covid-19 pandemic struck, postponing the elections to 2021. We changed our focus to fighting the spread of the virus & responding to arising community issues. Here’s a short thread on how we organised in 2020.

On Thursday 25th March 2021 at 6pm, we will launch civil society priorities for this year's regional elections for the next Mayor and Police & Crime Commissioner.

This is not a public hustings event. Amidst celebrating our diversity and powerful testimonies, communities from across our membership will assemble together online to share specific asks to the candidates invited to make pledges on making our families better off, communities safer and our region a place of welcome.
