Marching for Climate Action
Start: Saturday, September 08, 2018•10:00 AM
On September 8, thousands of rallies will be held in cities and towns around the world to demand our local leaders commit to building a fossil free world that works for all of us.
Join us as we hold our local leaders to accountable and demand that they walk the talk on climate action. Meet at the downtown fire station in Corvallis (400 NW Harrison Blvd) at ten am on Sept 8. After short speeches, singing and instructions, our group will march in a southerly direction, walk on the sidewalk along the farmers market and make our way to Highway 99 as it enters downtown Corvallis near the Skate Park.
Feel free to dress up in costume or clothing (masks, hats) that is colorful and playful, that can draw the attention of passers-by to our messaging and the need for climate action. Besides the goal of drawing public attention to the need for climate action by our city council and other local and state groups, the march will be an easy opportunity for participants to get more involved and, importantly, have some fun.
