Help set up 579 pairs of shoes, representing each Kiwi we lost to suicide in 2016, to raise awareness about suicide prevention and our mental health crisis.

We want the Government to set a suicide prevention target and hold an urgent independent mental health inquiry. They've refused to do both.

* 11 am - 12 noon - setup shoes.
* 12 noon - 1pm - locals affected by suicide share their story/s and the change they want with local media, while holding a pair of their loved ones shoes.
* 1pm - 2pm - pack down shoes.

We will be setting the shoes up by the river in Soldiers Park. This is Nicky Stevens family’s memorial place to him and where they feel that he found peace.
