62+ Years of Increasing Carbon Dioxide - a public art display
Start: Sunday, September 22, 2019• 8:00 AM
End: Sunday, September 29, 2019• 9:45 PM
Calls and efforts to mitigate and limit the climate crisis are gaining in intensity worldwide. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has predicted that humans must reduce our carbon emissions 50% by 2030 and 100% by 2050, or face significant climate disruption that may be irreversible.
Young climate activists worldwide have called for global climate strikes and actions during the week of Sept. 20-27.
In response, concerned Holliston residents will draw attention to the climate emergency by posting an art installation on telephone poles along Rte 16. The signs will illustrate the increasing carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere over the last 62 years, and encourage action to protect the climate.
The installation is a project of Upper Charles Climate Action, a local chapter of 350 Mass.
The installation will be available for viewing during a limited time from 9/21 - 9/28. From the westbound, the installation begins at approximately at 439 Washington Street. From the east bound the installation begins at approximately at 1027 Washington Street.
