7 Claremont Colleges On-Campus Climate Strike
Start: Friday, December 06, 2019•12:30 PM
With the consequences of climate change becoming ever more clear and dire with each passing day, a new powerful wave of the climate movement has been swelling up over the last couple of years. Young people around the world have been rising up to defend our future, and have been going on strike – every week, all over the planet – for months. In the September Climate Strikes alone, 7.6 million people took to the streets with us.
But our movement isn't going anywhere. Now, we are preparing for the next wave of Climate Strikes. Strike on campus with us to unify the Claremont Colleges in climate action.
We’ll be holding a rally at the Walker Beach, the plot of grass next to the Pomona free wall and Frary dining Hall Friday Dec 6th 10-11am with performances, speeches, and interactive actions and activities you can participate in. Then we’ll lead a powerful march around campus from 11-11:30am and have an open time for lunch, checking out our interactive tables and making art! If you’re interested in joining us pledge to strike here at bit.ly/7CLIMATESTRIKE. Share this around with your friends. We want this to be a historic day of climate action on campus that will spur many movements of change on campus and globally. I want to tell my children that I did everything I could to combat this crisis to leave a world that is inhabitable and safe for them, please join me.
