Start: Monday, June 19, 2023 5:30 PM

Hear about our plan for an exciting research pilot into the health and wellbeing impact of a basic income. We'll celebrate the work done so far and launch our fundraising for the project.

We'll be joined by speakers:

  • Cllr Ruth Berkley Lead Member for Adults, Independence and Wellbeing at South Tyneside Council
  • Basic income advocate and North of Tyne Mayor Jamie Driscoll
  • Matthew Johnson, Professor of Politics at the University of Northumbria
  • Kate Osborne MP for Jarrow has provided a video message
  • And members of the project team from Big Local Central Jarrow and Basic Income Conversation
Find out about the next steps and how you can be involved going forward. After the talking, join us for refreshments and chat.

Basic income is an idea that every citizen should receive money to meet their basic needs; money that is always there if your life changes, or you want to change your life.
