Activist Afternoons July 14

Start: Sunday, July 14, 2019 4:00 PM

End: Sunday, July 14, 2019 6:00 PM

Activist Afternoons is a way for all members of our community to gather and take action on the issues and elections we care about.

We meet weekly on Sundays at 4pm, at Workbar Central Square, 45 Prospect Street in Cambridge to continue our work in civic engagement and political advocacy.

Confirmed:

  • Voter Choice Massachusetts, the grassroots movement in support of ranked choice voting, will be making phone calls to supporters, asking them to attend our Lobby Day at the State House (7/16) or a canvassing event or to call their representative to support the two ranked choice voting bills currently in the state house and senate.
  • Sister District MA-RI is calling Virginia voters for three candidates -- Larry Barnett, Hala Ayala, and John Bell -- to help Democrats flip the state's legislature blue this fall. Help us draw the line at Virginia!
  • CAST will write postcards to registered Democrats in Pinellas County, Florida, to encourage them to sign up for Vote By Mail.  Voters enrolled in VBM automatically receive ballots by mail for all elections for 4 years.  Let's help grow the Democratic voter base in a key state!  CAST will provide supplies and instructions, but participants are asked please to contribute the cost of postage.
  • Swing Left Greater Boston will be sending postcards to North Carolina 9 voters to remind them to vote in the most important Congressional election of 2019 featuring the "battle of the Dans"
  • Swing Left Greater Boston Voter Registration by Mail 2.0 is here! In this proven tactic, send letters to Pennsylvania unregistered likely Democratic voters with the voter registration form and prepaid return mailer in the envelope! Contributions for postage and mailing supplies gratefully accepted
  • Our Revolution Cambridge will be meeting off-site at 213 Hurley St in E Cambridge starting at 2PM to continue Sullivan Courthouse community redevelopment projects!

*Might phonebank? Please bring a cellphone, laptop and charger. A headset or pair of earphones is also helpful when calling voters or potential volunteers!*
