Join an ALTRAC community call to discuss the upcoming Advocacy Day at the Alabama State House, on Wednesday, February 5th. We will be discussing how you can effectively advocate for yourself and our community to your legislator, how to navigate the state house, and what you can expect. There will be plenty of time for questions and open discussion, too.

We are able to provide limited financial and travel assistance to those who wouldn't otherwise be able to make it to the Advocacy Day. If you'd normally have trouble paying for gas or taking time off work to come to Montgomery, please join us on this call or email us at info@altrac.works -- we can help.

Here is the description of the February 5th Advocacy Day:

Come join us after the March Without Labels on February 5th for an in-person Advocacy Day! An advocacy day is by far the most impactful thing you can do to push back against the bills we fight: we assemble together at the capital, gas each other up, then go talk to our own representatives in-person, in their offices.

It’s really meaningful for them to be able to hear your personal story about how you or someone you love will be affected by these bills. Most of these lawmakers have never knowingly met a trans person, or someone who has trans kids, or someone who’s impacted by Don’t Say Gay.

This is our time to show them that queer people and our allies exist in the districts they serve, and are paying attention.

Automatic closed captioning will be available in Google Meet. If you have additional accessibility needs, please contact us at info@altrac.works and we will do our best to accommodate them.
