Arun Local Plan - what is it and what's gone wrong?

Start: Monday, July 3, 2023 at 6:00 PM GMT

A link to attend this virtual event will be emailed upon RSVP

Please join us for a discussion on the Arun Local Plan, and the badly planned house building we are seeing in our local communities.

What is a Local Plan? Across the country, all local Planning Authorities are required to create a Local Plan that conforms to the National Planning Policy Framework. The Local Plan is intended to set out the vision, strategy and policies for sustainable development in the area. It details where and when communities want and need local development.

How is this working (or not) in Arun? Join us next Monday 3 July at 7pm, to find out more!*

Our panel will include: Isabel Thurston, Sue Wallsgrove and Ian Manion. Sue is one of our current Arun District councillors, Chair of the Environment committee, and Vice Chair of the Planning committee. Isabel was previously an Arun councillor, with a great knowledge of how the council operates. Ian is an active and experienced parish councillor, who has been following planning in the local area closely.

The panel will brief us all on the history and current situation, and there will then be an opportunity for wider discussion. We ask that you please submit your questions to Faye before the meeting, if possible.

We look forward to seeing you on Monday 3 July at 7pm on Zoom.
