Baltimore to Sen. Cardin: Reject Climate Denial

Start: Monday, January 09, 201712:00 PM

On Monday January 9th, people in all 50 states will send a message to every US Senator: reject Donald Trump's reckless climate denying cabinet nominees. In Baltimore, we will rally outside Senator Cardin's Baltimore office to support him in standing up against Trump's corporate agenda.

The Day Against Denial will fight back against some of Trump’s most dangerous cabinet picks:

- Rex Tillerson, CEO of Exxon, for Secretary of State
- Scott Pruitt for EPA Administrator
- Ex-Gov. Rick Perry for Secretary of Energy
- Rep. Ryan Zinke for Department of Interior

The climate is changing, and anyone who denies it should not be in the White House cabinet. It's up to the Senate to stop these nominations -- so it’s up to us to show up in person and make sure they do. We need our Senators to fight against Trump's Proposed Cabinet of Climate Deniers and reject the nominations.

We can start to do so by gathering our friends and neighbors to rally together to speak to our Senators. It’s time to speak directly with Senate staff members and pass along the message that we, as constituents and voters, do not accept Trump’s dangerous nominations.

We are grateful that Senator Cardin has raised concerns around the appointment of Rex Tillerson for Secretary of State. As Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, he will need to stand strong against Tillerson's appointment for Secretary of State. We need to show him that Marylander's support him in continuing to oppose these dangerous, climate denying appointments who threaten our families and the planet.

The address for Senator Cardin's Baltimore office is 100 S. Charles Street, Baltimore 21201. This the Bank of America Center. Meet at the intersection of S. Charles St and W. Pratt St. by the fountain at noon. See you there!
