The Baton Rouge location of the global strike actions on Fridays, inspired by Swedish teenage activist Greta Thunberg, in which students and workers all over the world go out on strike to demand action to reduce CO₂ emissions and other human causes of climate change. Louisiana is one of the world's major petroleum processors, and BR is the state capital, so we owe it to the world to take action to reverse our dirty way of life.

How this action came about. This action started with a strike on Friday, September 20, 2019, attended by about 50 people, mostly LSU students, plus some LSU faculty and staff and other members of the community. Channel 9 news reported on it. A group of students attending that day decided to carry on with ongoing actions.
