Baton Rouge Tenants Union Interest Meeting

This event is an initial meeting between tenants in Baton Rouge to discuss plans to create a collective organization that is by and for tenants. Join us at the River Center Library, room 4A from 2-4pm to learn and discuss next steps.
We’re starting a Tenants Union because:
  • Landlords and property owners in Baton Rouge have many lobbying organizations that represent them, but renters have none. If they are organized, we should be too!
  • 40% of homes in EBR are rentals, but there are very few legal protections from abuse.
  • We can achieve more together! Our strength comes from collective action and solidarity.

Baton Rouge Democratic Socialists of America needs you and your neighbors to fight for your rights and take control of your home. That is why renters and tenants around the parish are organizing to create a Tenants Union.
