Berlin in support of StandingRock #NoDAPL

Start: Wednesday, November 16, 2016 2:00 PM

Update (Nov 10): After the election results, we know that many of our communities are hurt and afraid. Donald Trump’s presidency will threaten many of the people and things we care about most – including Indigenous rights and the climate. Now more than ever, we need to stand together and show the strength of this movement.

Together, we will fight with everything we’ve got to stop Trump’s dangerous and reckless agenda,

but right now we have to keep the pressure on President Obama to do what’s right while he’s still in office and stop the Dakota Access pipeline.

Indigenous leaders are calling on us to take to the streets and disrupt "business-as-usual".

Join us on Wednesday, November 16 for a massive solidarity action and rally at the U.S. consulate from 2:00pm on speaking up to revoke the permits for this dirty oil pipeline and support Standing Rock.

The Army Corps fast-tracked the Dakota Access Pipeline without proper consultation, and as a result, bulldozers are approaching Standing Rock as we speak. But with coordinated, massive demonstrations across the world, we’ll make it clear that this powerful movement will not allow the sacrifice of Indigenous rights, our water, or our climate.

This day of action is one of many calls for solidarity actions targeting not only the Army Corps, but stakeholders at every level -- including the banks who are funding Dakota Access and the companies building the project.

Write an email or text msg if you can help co-organize this event!

Red Haircrow will be with us throughout the afternoon to share about native sovereignty, systemic violence and allyship. He will bring us the bigger picture as the historical context in North America/Turtle Island and explain how WE, people in Europe, can support the social and environmental movement happening in #Standing Rock.

Red HairCrow is a Berlin-based writer, educator, chef and filmmaker of Native American descent (Chiricahua Apache/Cherokee).
