Flagstaff Bike Climate Action Team (CAT)

Are you interested in getting involved in local bike and pedestrian issues?

Join us for an interactive and educational Livestream with former Flagstaff Vice Mayor and Councilmember Adam Shimoni. Adam championed many efforts to better serve and build for cyclists and pedestrians and will share his insights with us.

At this meeting, we will hear from the Flagstaff Biking Organization (FBO), discuss the City's Crash Data, and dive into frequently made comments by the public on bike/ped efforts and the next steps leading into April's events.
The three projects we hope to see funded are:

- Protected intersection at Butler & Beaver

- Protected intersection at Butler & San Francisco

- Elevating the Butler Bike Pilot Lanes to the height of the sidewalk creating 10' FUTS corridors on both sides of the street (better for cyclists, drivers, and maintenance)

Protected intersections are designed to place pedestrians' and cyclists' comfort and safety needs first. The Active Transportation Master Plan (ATMP) identifies these two intersections as being hot spots for crashes with bike/ped. The implementation of Protected Intersections will likely reduce the number of crashes tremendously.
