Come join us for a field day at Handy Farms! Clayton Handy will give his perspective on the opportunities and challenges of farming a small-scale regenerative walnut orchard with a whole-systems approach. We will also learn about his innovative practices such as gopher management using owl boxes and daffodil plantings, intercropping vegetables within the orchard, marketing regenerative practices, and more. Clayton will also be giving a practical demonstration of using sap sampling for improved nutrient management. He will talk on how to sample for sap analysis and how to interpret the results.

Cindy Daley (Director and Co-founder of the Center for Regenerative Agriculture & Resilient Systems at Chico State University) will also be joining us to talk about her work in orchards.

1 hr of CDFA INMP CEU will be offered at this event.

Coffee, water, and snacks will be provided. Attendance for this event is limited. If you RSVP and are unable to attend, please contact us at ecologicalfarming@caff.org so others may attend.
