Built on Faith: Congregations and Affordable Housing Summit

Start: Saturday, November 05, 2022 8:30 AM

In February of this year, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens announced that 1000 affordable homes are coming to Atlanta in the next 5 years through an intentional collaboration between local churches, mosques, and synagogues. United through their faith and values, a group of 15 religious organizations with combined access to 52 acres of land are working together to provide shelter and sustainment for hundreds of families.

A group of Nashville-based congregations, organizations, and non-profits are replicating the same care and devotion to our people. We know that housing is essential (a human right) for sustenance, and with the housing crisis in Nashville, families are being displaced from schools, networks, communities, jobs, food, and cultural sites—all because of the lack of affordable housing.

Built on Faith is a summit for congregations who are interested in learning how they play a role to solve Nashville’s affordable housing crisis. During this initial conversation, we’ll look into different models and what that can mean to Nashville; we’ll assess stakeholders’ interests and capacity, and we’ll begin to set up a collective of partners that will join us on this journey.
