Imagine the shortages of March 2020, only because they’re caused by heatwaves, floods, and fires, they never end.

If we don’t stop the climate crisis, that’s the future we are guaranteed. And with New York stuck at 6% wind and solar energy, it’s the future Albany is courting.

Fortunately, we can stop it. We have the technology to transition from fossil fuels to 100% renewable energy, now. And we have the authority: the nation’s largest public power provider, which can build it faster, cheaper, and better than any corporation.

The Build Public Renewables Act will enable that public power provider, the New York Power Authority, to lead the mass renewable buildout that science, and more importantly, survival, demands.

Tens of thousands of green union jobs. Democratic accountability. A New York Power Authority that makes New York a power authority, just like New York Governor Franklin Delano Roosevelt intended when he created NYPA in 1931.

In 2022, New York has two choices: Become the world leader in renewables, or a footnote in the history of humanity’s extinction. Enter the era of the Green New Deal, or let the era of stable agriculture come to an end. Solar, or we sink. Wind, or we lose.
