Vermont Workers' Circle

Start: Wednesday, December 11, 2024 6:00 PM

What's going on in your workplace? Are you struggling with a problem that seems impossible to resolve? Are you stuck on a grievance or with contract negotiations?

A Workers' Circle is a peer mentoring group for workers to help resolve workplace issues, build new unions, and strengthen existing unions. Workers' Circles are open to all workers who do not have hiring, firing, or disciplining power in their workplace.

“Having a place to go and get advice from people who had no vested interest in our campaign beyond general enthusiasm for labor organizing was very helpful,” says Gabriel Meyer-Lee, a member of UVM Graduate Students United (UAW).

In the few months that we have been holding these meetings, we have advised active organizing campaigns including UVM Graduate Students United (UAW), Ben & Jerry’s Scoopers United, Black Cap Workers United, Howard Center workers (AFSCME 1674), as well as several campaigns that are not yet public.

Come to a Workers' Circle to build collective power! Register here for updates. We have Workers' Circles every second and fourth Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Democracy Creative in Burlington's Soda Plant (266 Pine St.).

Workers' Circles are co-sponsored by Green Mountain Democratic Socialists of America and the Green Mountain IWW.
