Join us for Center for Common Grounds Annual Calaplooza, where we will run a Zoom phone bank for EIGHT hours on November 3.
We will call Black voters in SIX different states, encourage them to vote, and provide resources that make it easier to check where they are registered and find the necessary voting information.
Come and join us for as long as you like! We will be joined by special guests throughout the day, including:
- 1 pm ET: Mimi Kennedy, actor
- 2 pm ET: Nancy Lee Grahn, actor
- 3 pm ET: Marie-Louise Parker, actor
- 4 pm ET: Bethany Perryman, ACLU Conneticut
- 5 pm ET: Jessica Craven, activist and author of Chop Wood, Carry Water blog
- 6 pm ET: Matt Gehring, director, educator, and comedy creator, and Alexis Gay, comedian and podcaster
- 7 pm ET: Edie Falco, actor
- 7:45 pm ET: Patricia Russo of The Campaign School at Yale University
Guided trainings will be offered throughout the day.
Beginning phone banker? We start each call with a training for anyone who needs it. You can also train yourself beforehand by watching this video.
Experienced? You can start making these calls immediately and pop back into Zoom with any questions.
You can also make these calls between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. within the target state's time zone—there is no need to wait for an event!
