Hello comrades! Come and join us for the very first session of our Capital Reading Group, in-person at the Community Forge as well as virtual! We will be reading through the new translation of Capital vol. 1,  Marx's seminal work on political economy that forever changed the face of socialist (and even bourgeois) theory and practice. Before this though, we will be hosting three preliminary sessions featuring texts that will enhance our understanding of this momentous work. In this session, we will be discussing Marx's Preface to A Contribution to the Critique of Political Economy, also known as the 1859 preface. This work serves as a brief overview of Marx's ideas about historical materialism at the time.
