Training Call: How to Hold Corporate Polluters Accountable

Here is the Zoom link to this call: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81998226074

The East Palestine train derailment shined a light on the dangers of transporting vinyl chloride used to make plastics. But East Palestine is not the only example of corporate mishandling. A new reportuncovers the corporations responsible for creating the most vinyl chloride pollution in the United States and the far-reaching toxic impacts of making polyvinyl chloride plastic (PVC). Following the recent Ohio train derailment where vinyl chloride and PVC plastic burned, this report reveals that vinyl chloride pollution is widespread across the country.

In this Training Call, our former community organizer and current director of Toxic-Free Future's Mind the Store program, Mike Schade, will further illuminate vinyl chloride pollution. He will also discuss how Mind the Store is challenging the nation's biggest retailers to reduce and eliminate toxic chemicals and plastics. Through this call, we will instruct you on how you can get involved to protect communities from toxic plastic pollution by holding corporations accountable.

The Training Call will occur on TUESDAY, September 19th, 2023 at 12:00 PM EST.
