Citizens UK Churches’ Community of Practice

Hosted by Alison Webster, Citizens UK's Mission Theologian in Residence, this event will build on our previous Community of Practice sessions which took place in 2022.

During 2023 the Churches’ Community of Practice will be exploring the key challenges that face our churches in contemporary society, and will examine how Organising can speak into this. What are the questions to which Community Organising might contribute some answers?

Amongst other things yet to be determined (in consultation with you!), we will look at strategies for mission and ministry in a context of apparent decline; where to go with church growth imperatives and narratives; how to work for the meaningful participation of children and young people; how to improve our ‘reach’ into local communities in a way that honours diversity and inclusion. And, of course, underlying all these themes will be the agenda of working at all times for social justice.

Registration is for the whole series, with all dates in 2023 listed below:

  • Thursday 23 February, 16:00 - 17:30
  • Thursday 4 May, 16:00 - 17:30
