Calling all food lovers and potential community organizers and leaders!

On Friday, February 28th from 4:30PM - 8:30PM, Climate Justice Toronto is hosting a special orientation where you have an opportunity to join our digital communications pod! As part of welcoming some potential new members, we are also having a community feast! We had originally intended this event as an Iftar for our comrades, but the first day of Ramadan fell on March 1st this year, just after our event, no need for our planning to go to waste, we can indulge in great food together to prepare for the fast.

Are you an artist (of any kind), a jokester, and someone who cares for others? We are looking for members who are interested in people, and want to learn from talking to others what works to persuade people into action, so that we can plant the seeds of a working class movement growing from class awareness.

With the election results coming in a day before this event, we know that this will be a time of anxiety and reflection, and what we'll all love and need in that moment, is a great meal surrounded by friends and family.

Event Details

The event will start with an orientation where we'll tell you what's new with CJTO's digital communications and social media, and what it's like organizing with us! Attendees will be asked to speak and introduce themselves, and participate in discussion.

When finished we'll proceed to break our fast and enjoy a meal together. Attendees of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome.

We ask that guests please bring some food potluck style. Note the following restrictions.

• No pork
• Bring halal meats

We will be providing gluten-free, vegetarian, and dairy-free options. If you have any other food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know and we will try to accomodate you. Be aware that we may not be able to accomodate some allergies depending on severity.
