Climate Action SK: Climate Rally in Saskatoon

Start: Friday, November 12, 202111:30 AM

End: Friday, November 12, 2021 1:00 PM

Concerned community members and organizations will be rallying at Saskatoon City Hall on Friday Nov 12, 2021, 11:30am-1:00pm, in support of COP26.

What is COP26? It’s the 26th annual United Nations Conference of Parties, held this year in Glasgow, Scotland, where almost every country on Earth will gather to address climate change. Close to 200 nations signed onto the Paris Accord at COP21, and at this year's conference we will hear about their plans to cut emissions by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050.

Aligned with the COP26 goals, CJS's main call to action is “Don’t leave us behind.” We demand a just transition to sustainability:

speed up the switch to electric vehicles
encourage investment in renewables
prepare for the impact of more variable weather (which affects many aspect of life in Saskatchewan, including agriculture and infrastructure such as roads)

Please help us spread the word. Share this info widely to individuals and groups. #yxeClimateMarch

And get in touch with CJS if you have questions or would like to get involved!
