What we do in the next few years will determine the future of our world. The solutions to the climate crisis are out there and people across the country and across the world are already building them.

Coronavirus is a reminder that we are all part of one global community and that we need to cooperate to solve global problems.  It’s more important than ever that we take time to look out for each other and work together, for everyone's benefit and for the planet’s. It is this attitude of kindness, resilience and ability to adapt, that we should use to inform other global crises.

The most powerful way we can respond to climate change is by working together where we live to build solutions and then joining our communities together at key moments to push for big national change.

Join us on 6 May to kickstart Climate Action Wigan and Leigh and explore how we can build on recent commitments to plant a million trees!

We’ll spend some time working out what climate action might look like in the Wigan area and what we can do together. We’ll also look at Wigan Council’s plans to plant one million trees over the next decade and how we can build on that with support from Friends of the Earth’s trees campaign.

Join us on Zoom, encourage your friends and neighbours to get involved, and be part of the solution!

Where: Meetings will be held online via Zoom during this lockdown period

Bookings: This is a free event but please register so we can send you the Zoom log-in details and have an idea of numbers.
