The Moco Student Committee for Climate Action is a multi-member, student-led initiative focused on pressuring governing bodies to take action against the climate crisis. As a first step in an indefinite journey of advocacy, we are responding to Greta Thunberg’s call for general strikes on the 20th and 27th of September. On the 27th, more specifically, we are rallying outside of the Carver Educational Services Center (the Montgomery County Board of Education) to deliver a petition which lists several ambitious demands concerning how the Board may reform their handling of the climate crisis. Students (all ages), parents, and professionals are welcome.
