Climate Protest: Solidarity with the People of Pakistan

Start: Saturday, October 29, 202212:00 PM

Wall Street corporations, led by giants Chase Bank and Exxon Mobil, are profiting from the fossil fuel climate catastrophe which is harming and killing people all around the world, especially in places where people are black, brown, Indigenous, and/or poor.

For decades, Wall Street, led by Chase and its partner Exxon Mobil have lied about climate change and fossil fuels and people worldwide are paying a very steep price, often with their lives.

Pakistanis are the latest to suffer the brunt of corporate-financed global warming and on a scale that is breath-taking:

As of Oct. 9, one third of Pakistan, the world’s 5th most populous nation, is underwater. Over 1,700 people have died, 585 of them children. 8 million people are displaced, and 650,000 men, women, and children are sleeping in   temporary camps. 1.7 million homes and 85% of the country’s agriculture are damaged or destroyed.

The monsoon season happens every year, but what we are seeing is an unprecedented, historic cataclysm that is unnecessary.

If Chase Bank and Exxon Mobil had not lied to and misled the public for the last 40 years In order to maximize profits, the current climate catastrophe could have been largely avoided.

Chase Bank profits by funding far more new(!) and current fossil fuel projects and companies than any other bank in the world.

HELP US SUPPORT THE PEOPLE OF  PAKISTAN AND HOLD CHASE BANK ACCOUNTABLE.

RSVP to join us on October 29 as we march from CVS AT 291 Thayer St., Providence to the Chase Bank branch at 234 Thayer St.
