Join us for our ongoing American Studies “Coffee Conversations” — informal conversations with faculty sharing their research, career experiences, and beyond. Get to know your classmates and faculty with this series of get-togethers that will take place every month throughout the year.

Laura Troiano is the Dean of the Honors College and a faculty member in the Federated Department of History and affiliated faculty in the American Studies Program at Rutgers University – Newark. Her research interests include narrative and local history, sports, curriculum development, and experimental pedagogy. Her public scholarship has brought her to nearly every corner of the city of Newark and through much of the Greater New Jersey region, forging collaborations with various schools, teachers, and nonprofits, including the Newark Museum, the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. She is most recently inspired by the J.R.R. Tolkien line “Not all those who wander are lost.”
