This event will be conducted in English but we will have translation and learning support for attendees who feel more comfortable learning / interacting in Spanish. This is a one-day, in-person event with a 2nd virtual session that will be held Friday, November 1st. We will NOT have a live virtual component to the training but we will make recordings and training materials available to interested individuals who can't make it in perosn. Over the last decade, we’ve witnessed a steady rise in the proliferation and weaponization of
misinformation and disinformation, culminating in “The Big Lie” efforts to overturn the results of
the 2020 Presidential elections.

Since then, the sources and vectors of mis/disinfo have only proliferated further with the rise of
generative AI driving the cost of creating written lies and deep fake audio & video down to near
0 and social media companies stepping back from any effort at content moderation and/or fully
endorsing anti-democratic forces.

• A mini hackathon where you can work in groups or individually on
  misinfo / disinfo challenges you / your organization are wrestling with right now
  • Individuals / groups that want can return on Friday, November 1st to continue working on their projects and present them to the group

Who is this event for?

You do not have to be a coder or data analyst to participate. This event is primarily for individuals / organizations currently working or believe they may soon be working to identify and counteract misinformation / disinformation that has the potential to compromise the integrity of Georgia elections and other elections across the country.

Our venue, the Loudermilk Conference Center, has wheelchair access available via ramps and elevators throughout the conference space. Priority seating can be made available in all spaces upon request. Bathrooms in the venue space are wheelchair accessible.

Does the venue have accommodations for parents with children?

A private room for lactation, pumping, and/or chestfeeding will be available for those who require it. We cannot provide on-site childcare, but we will do our best to accommodate working parents or those who need to bring infants.

Will you have learning accommodations for individuals who are deaf, blind, or neuroatypical?

While we strive to make our trainings as accessible and inclusive as possible, these are not accommodations we're able to provide for this training

Are you taking any Covid precautions?

We will ask all attendees to test prior to the event, certify they have done so, and stay home if they test positive / generally aren't feeling well. We'll have masks on hand for anyone who wants one and forgets to bring one.
