Join Commit to Canvass Collective East Bay volunteers as we meet Swing TX Left and other Houston activist leaders in four days of voter outreach days of action.

We will have introductory presentations on Dec 12 in the morning, to learn about: (i) APT PAC pursuing civic engagement, voter registration and GOTV aimed at apartment voters who are key to adding  more diverse voters to any turnout model; (ii) Battleground Texas aimed at turning TX blue by engaging volunteers in their neighborhoods in  impacting local, state and national elections; (iii) Student Voter Initiative, a non-partisan statewide high school student voter registration and education program.

On Dec 12, afternoon and all day Dec 13-14 we  will knock doors, talk about voting, hand out mail-in voter registration forms, and leave voter registration door hangs and candidate literature in several precincts involved in the runoff elections for Houston city council and mayor, in partnership with Harris County Democratic Party, Southwest Democrats and Swing TX Left.

On Dec 15, we will strategize with representatives of Democratic campaigns in the Houston Metropolitan Area that aim at flipping the TX House of Representatives and turning TX Blue in 2020, including the campaigns of Eliz Markowitz (HD 28 - Fort Bend County), Lizzie Fletcher (Elected 2018, TX-7 Harris County), and Sri Kulkarni (running 2020, TX-22, Fort Bend County).

We ask every volunteer interested in attending to RSVP/register  individually to this event.

Volunteers will travel to Houston on Dec 11 or 12, return to the Bay Area on Dec 15 evening or Dec 16 morning. Supporter housing will be available upon request.

From Bay Area, non stop flights to Houston are available on Southwest from Oakland.
