Common Grace training workshop - Auckland

Start: Saturday, March 15, 2025 9:30 AM

End: Saturday, March 15, 2025 1:30 PM

Common Grace exists to equip and organise followers of Jesus across Aotearoa to transform unjust structures for the common good. We do this by mentoring groups of passionate Christians to run advocacy campaigns - and we are committed to upskilling together!

In 2025 we'll hold several training workshops with sessions on advocacy and campaigning skills and Christian teaching and reflections relevant to this work.

At the training we will have the awesome Rev Mark Barnard, Kaiwhakahaere of Karuwhā Trust and an awesome friend and mentor to many of our community teaching about the justice of Jesus as Lord and peacemaker.

Then we will dive into a discussion about Matike Mai Aotearoa - a vision for consitutional transformation based on Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We'll then have a workshop on Bill Moyer's Movement Action Plan, a really helpful framework for understanding the arc of social movements and campaigns achieving transformation, and a practical tool for use in our campaigns.

We'll finish with a shared lunch. Bread and wraps will be provided (including GF / DF options). Please bring a sandwich filling to share. Jesus and justice-minded friends are welcome to join us.

The venue is wheelchair accessible. If you have other access needs please let us know.
