Save Energy & Money & Improve Resident Comfort in Your Building

About 70% of NYC’s greenhouse gas emissions come from heating, cooling, lighting and powering our buildings. This means that if NYC is ever going to reach our goals for emissions reductions we must tackle energy efficiency and emissions from buildings. It also means that you are probably paying for heating and cooling energy to leak out of your home!

NYC Retrofit Accelerator is a free City program that helps retrofit buildings to use less energy.

  • Their staff offers free, personalized advisory services that streamline the process of making energy efficiency improvements.
  • They will work one-on-one with your building to understand your needs and provide free technical guidance and assistance as your building considers and moves forward with efficiency projects.
  • They will explain what energy conservation projects make sense for buildings like yours, and how to finance them.
  • Additionally, their team can find cash incentives and financing to help pay for your upgrades.

Please invite your neighbors, coop and condo leaders and property managers to come and learn more about this free program: https://retrofitaccelerator.cityofnewyork.us/

Groundbreaking Climate Legislation Proposed for NY State

Private sustainability actions, such as retrofitting for energy efficiency and conservation, are important but not enough to combat the climate emergency. With Federal action on climate blocked by the current administration, NY State can and must lead by example.

  • The Climate and Community Protection Act (CCPA) would legally require NY State government to reach 100% renewable energy by 2050, with strong labor standards and investment in communities impacted by climate change and inequality in mind.
  • The Climate and Community Investment Act (CCIA) would raise $7B of revenue per year to fund our renewable future through a modest fee on corporate polluters that damage our health and climate.

This two-pronged platform is championed by NY Renews, a 140+ member coalition, including 350NYC. Learn how you can help get it passed into law. http://www.nyrenews.org/
