Community Fracking Forum

Start: Saturday, May 11, 2019 1:00 PM

End: Saturday, May 11, 2019 3:00 PM

US Steel and Merrion Oil and Gas are working to acquire a permit to drill an unconventional (fracking) well on the grounds of the Edgar Thomson Mill. About 21,000 people live within two miles of the proposed site, making this an unusually densely populated site for a dirty, dangerous project.

On May 11th, Pittsburgh DSA's Eco-Socialist Committee will be hosting a panel of experts on fracking and experienced community organizers to discuss the finer points of what this well would mean for North Braddock and its surrounding municipalities. Join us to find out how you can support the work of the local community group North Braddock Residents For Our Future and help keep fracking out of the Mon Valley.

There will be brief presentations, followed by discussion and Q+A. The event will be held on the second floor of the Braddock Carnegie Library--please let us know ahead of time if you require elevator access, childcare, or other accommodations.
