What are you angry about? What is putting pressure on you, your family and your community? And more importantly, what on earth can you do about it?!

For over 35 years, Citizens UK has been working across the country for justice and the common good. Together, we form a diverse network of over 600 civil society institutions from education, faith and third sector backgrounds. We train local people in the craft of Community Organising, equipping them with the practical tools to change the world from what it is, to what they believe it should be.

We believe Community Organising works. This training will unpack the basic argument and principles of Community Organising and is aimed at those who are newer to organising, or more experienced leaders who would appreciate a refresher.

This training will take place online, over a series of 5 Tuesdays between 17.00-18.15;

  1. Tuesday 1st Oct - POWER
  2. Tuesday 8th Oct - SELF-INTEREST & 121's
  3. Tuesday 15th Oct - WHAT IS COMMUNITY ORGANISING?
  4. Tuesday 22nd Oct - THE 5 STEPS TO SOCIAL CHANGE
  5. Tuesday 29th Oct - LEADERSHIP

We encourage trainees to attend all sessions which have been put together to support the organising efforts in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire and we are excited to bring together community leaders from across the East Midlands for shared learning. This training will be followed by a more in-depth, in-person training on Saturday 9th November in Nottingham, which will have a sharper focus on skills, tools and campaigning techniques. You can register for this training HERE.

If you have any questions and would like to know if this training would be right for you please speak to your organisational leader or contact Pete Rogers (pete.rogers@nottinghamcitizens.org).
