Join Metro DC DSA’s HGO (Harassment and Grievance Officer) Commission for a town hall to discuss how to create space and/or a new formation for conflict resolution and education around transformative justice within the chapter! The virtual event will be Wednesday, March 2, 7-8:30pm.

The HGO Commission was formed last spring to review the chapter’s Harassment Policy, the role of the HGOs, and to research and explore the creation of a committee that can handle conflict and tension that are not submitted as formal grievances and/or do not rise to the definition of harassment.

In this Town Hall, the Commission would like to start by sharing the takeaways from our research thus far related to mediation and community accountability with members. We would also like to present ideas we have for resources and chapter formations to help members manage conflict and facilitate healthy discussion among members with different ideologies.

Then, we invite members to provide feedback on our research and offer their own ideas for how our chapter can improve conflict management and create a more inclusive culture. We plan to use the feedback and ideas we receive during the town hall to develop a plan for a new chapter formation tasked with practicing and educating members on conflict resolution and community accountability.
