Climate Emergency UK created the Council Climate Action Scorecards to measure climate action from all UK councils.
Following extensive sector-wide consultations, Climate Emergency UK will be launching their updated methodology for the 2025 Scorecards, on 29th May 2024.
The updated draft methodology will be used to assess action taken by UK local authorities on the climate and ecological emergencies. The new methodology takes into account the feedback received from UK councils as well as sector organisations, while also allowing for comparison to be made between the 2025 and the 2023 Scorecards results.
The next edition of the Council Climate Action Scorecards will be released in Summer 2025.
This briefing is aimed at Council Officers and Councillors, to explain the upcoming changes in the methodology and provide an opportunity for questions and feedback. The briefing will also make clear the dates for the First Mark and the Right of Reply stages, so officers and councillors can prepare.
The session will be recorded and slides will be sent in a follow up email after the event for those unable to attend.
