Join for this ***extremely important hearing*** and help push Newburgh past the finish line in the fight for rent stabilization!

After over a year of organizing for rent stabilization in Newburgh, the council has finally completed their vacancy study, proving what we already knew: Newburgh tenants are in crisis! With rents and evictions skyrocketing in Newburgh, we need the council to declare a housing emergency and opt in to the Emergency Tenant Protection Act (ETPA) this session.

If this hearing goes well, the council will move to a vote before the end of the year. But landlords are mobilizing to show up and force and it's critical that we overwhelm them with resounding support for tenants. Come out and help us demand action NOW!

The council is meeting on Monday, 12/11 at 7 PM at the Newburgh Activity Center, 401 Washington Street. We'll meet right outside 6:30 and then head inside together. Join us!
