Croda / DNREC Informational Meeting
Start: Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 11:00 PM GMT
This is a virtual event

DNREC will hold an informational meeting on March 3rd at 6PM to review and answer questions regarding the recent settlement agreement between DNREC and Croda resulting from environmental permit violations in September 2020, and January 2021. (Click here to read the full Settlement Agreement)
Croda plans to restart the ethylene oxide production facility sometime after this week. The facility was shut-down November 2018 due to a leak of ethylene oxide that resulted in a closure of Delaware Memorial Bridge. After re-starting in January 2020, several permit violations and unpermitted releases were committed and again the plant was shut-down to resolve those issues. During required pre-restart testing in January and February 2021 emissions violations were again noted.
While DNREC has levied a fine and placed short-term conditions on Croda's operation as part of the settlement, residents of communities surrounding the Croda facility, and all concerned Delaware citizens should participate in this info session to ensure your questions are answered and your concerns are heard.
