It's Crunch-Time For Rosebank - join the demo!

Start: Saturday, July 15, 2023 2:00 PM

Oil giant Equinor wants to drill for oil at the huge Rosebank oil field. It would be a climate disaster and cost us billions. We must act now to stop it.

Time is running out to #StopRosebank.

Rosebank is the largest undeveloped oil field in the North Sea, and Norwegian oil giant Equinor wants to drill it.

If approved, it would be a climate catastrophe, producing the same emissions the world's 28 lowest-income countries do in a year.

Worst still, we would pay £3.75 billion in public money to Equinor while seeing absolutely no reduction on our energy bills.

Right now, the government and civil servants are considering whether or not to give the field the go-ahead. It could be approved any day now, so we can't afford to wait.

Join the march to tell our government & Equinor that we won't allow Rosebank to go ahead.

We've stopped oil fields like Rosebank before. A couple of years ago, a huge wave of public resistant forced oil companies to pull the plug on the Cambo oil field. We can do the same with Rosebank.

Meet outside the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (1 Victoria St, SW1H 0NE). March to Equinor UK (1 Kingdom St, W2 6BD).

This is a substantial walk (3.1 miles; 1 hour Google Maps pace) so if you have mobility issues there's the option to join us at DESNEZ until 14:45. Those on the march - wear comfortable shoes!

Sign up now and stay tuned for announcements.
