Cultural competence is key to thriving in culturally diverse classrooms and schools. All students, regardless of zip code, deserve a caring, qualified, and committed teacher. As American classrooms become more diverse, it's critical that all educators understand the importance of acknowledging the cultural assets of their students, families, and communities.

This webinar focuses on the importance of cultural competence in enabling educators to be effective with students from cultures other than their own. During this webinar, we will unpack what it means to be a “culturally competent educator,” the importance of having an awareness of one’s own cultural identity, views about difference, and the ability to learn and build on the cultural and community norms of students and their families.

The goal of this webinar is to provide prospective teachers with an overview of cultural competence and how to incorporate these understandings into the teaching and learning process to foster supportive learning environments where ALL students thrive and succeed.

RSVP today, and we'll email you a recording to last months webinar on Job Search and Interview Tips.
