Austin DSA and CWA, the Communications Workers of America, is providing a training for any DSA members interested in learning the how's and why's of forming a union at work. The training will take place over two two-hour sessions, please plan on attending both.

Part 1 - Saturday, August 15th 10:00am-12:00pm
The first session will focus on the broader theory and history of why unions are a critical component of any democratic movement that wants to challenge capitalist control of our economy. In other words, why do socialists need a strong labor movement and why does the labor movement need socialists?

Part 2 - Sunday, August 16th 10:00am-12:00pm
The second session will focus on the practical steps to organizing your workplace, no matter where or how you work. Many socialists, new and old, are unfamiliar with the specifics of what goes into organizing in their workplaces,

Advance registration is required for attendance. You will receive a confirmation email once you have completed the form. Emails with the link for the video conference will be sent to registrants at least 24 hours prior to the first training.
