Dedication of Mother Earth Sculpture - Symbol of Sustainability
Start: Saturday, April 29, 2017• 9:30 AM
Mother Earth Project, MEP, is a global environment-saving initiative. Last month, we installed the first Mother Earth sculpture at the Georgetown Waterfront. The project’s goal is for the sculpture to become the Symbol of Sustainability with plans to place this sculpture in capital cities around the world (30 countries already interested). In fact, this fall MEP hopes to be in Bonn, Germany, to dedicate the Mother Earth sculpture, which will be sited next to the UN Headquarters for Climate Change, during their annual COP23 meeting. This year, there are plans to place the sculpture in Germany, Cameroon, Benin, Israel, and hopefully Sweden and New Zealand.
The Mother Earth sculpture will be dedicated in Georgetown (end of 31st Street on the Potomac River). We have invited students from multiple schools and residents from the community to this inaugural event. We also have invited several prominent speakers whose focus is on the environment and sustainability. Following the speakers, we will unveil the sculpture and then together walk to the Mall to join the Climate March.
Join us on April 29th at 9:30am in Georgetown on the Potomac River (at the end of 31st Street) for the dedication followed by a march to the Mall.
